Victorian church built 1899-1901 by FR Kempson, in red brick with Bath stone dressings. Roof and interior destroyed by bomb 1941. Restoration (1950's) retained shape, but created a light, airy church in place of former rich decoration. East window by Hugh Easton ('daring') shows semi-nude crimson-robed Christ in Glory seated on a rainbow. Several works by Frank Roper—Stations in metal; St Martin carved in wood; 'magnificent lettered inscription' forming the reredos. Anglo-Catholic features: statues, Reserved Sacrament. New cloister-style frontage with glass doors planned for 2009.
